Our family-owned firm began serving the greater Niagara Frontier in 1982, with our location in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst, New York.
In 1986, Moscato CPA relocated to downtown Buffalo, and our accounting team has called it home ever since. The proximity of our office to the expressways provide easy access to all areas of Western New York, making Moscato CPA an ideal accounting, tax planning, and bookkeeping partner for local small- to medium-sized businesses.
Our firm consists principally of family members and has over 100 years of combined experience in the public accounting field. Additionally, our staff has a blend of experience from positions held in the private sector and large CPA firm backgrounds. James P. Moscato, CPA
Owner
James P. Moscato has over 35 years experience in financial consulting and business management. After graduating from Canisius College, his financial career started with Price Waterhouse in their New York City and Buffalo offices. Prior to opening his own public accounting practice, he was also the Chief Financial Officer of several Buffalo companies over a 10-year period. In 1982, he started his own certified public accounting practice which continues to serve small businesses in the Western New York area. He is a long standing member of the AICPA and NYSSCPA organizations.

James J. Moscato
Account Manager
James Moscato Jr. brings more than 33 years of tax, financial, and business consulting experience to his role at his father’s firm. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Canisius College in 1983. He is dedicated to providing proactive tax planning throughout the year, focusing on tax savings plans and tax forecasting. Jim has the expertise in providing comprehensive accounting services, including individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns. Jim is an avid Buffalo sports fan, enjoys running, and family time. He and his wife Susan have three children.

Dylan J. Moscato, CPA, MBA
Senior Accountant
Dylan is the grandson of James P. Moscato and a graduate of Canisius College with a B.S. in Accounting. He received a MBA at Canisius College in Financial Services. In 2019, Dylan passed the uniform CPA exam, and has been licensed with New York State. In his spare time, Dylan is an assistant ice hockey coach for the Williamsville North Spartans Varsity & JV teams and for WNY Wolves Hockey.

Bonnie L. Moscato
Account Manager
Bonnie has worked at Moscato CPA for the last 34 years. In her role as Accountant, she has supported several small businesses with their bookkeeping needs. Her love of the accounting program, Quickbooks, led her to become an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She is married to Mark Moscato and has three grown sons and four grandchildren, whom she loves to spend time with.

Kim M. Muriel
Staff Accountant
Before joining James P. Moscato, CPA, Kim worked for 20 years in various administration and management positions for companies in the construction, telemarketing, and hotel industries. Kim has a degree in Hospitality Management and has recently been certified in QuickBooks Online. She works as a staff accountant providing clients with hands-on assistance. Kim is married to George Muriel and has four children. She is also the daughter of James P. Moscato.

Ellen has been our administrative assistant since 2010. She is married with two grown children who live in Boston. Ellen enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and also cooking.
